Tailored to HR support in education, apprentices gain hands-on experience, learn about key HR systems and processes in schools, and build theoretical knowledge of HR practice. Ideal for people new to or eager to enter the world of HR, this programme provides a foundation of what good HR practice looks like in schools.

This course is suitable for those with an interest in working closely with people and providing support for employees, while also making a wider difference in a school setting.

Modules Included:

  • HR and the Business: This module introduces apprentices to how HR supports and enables the wider business within a school or education setting. Learners develop an understanding of their school’s structure, vision, and values, and explore HR’s role in business strategy, organisational culture, stakeholder engagement, and financial planning.

  • Talent & resourcing: Apprentices develop an understanding of effective recruitment, selection, and workforce planning. This module focuses on attracting, developing, and retaining talent while applying relevant HR policies, processes, and employment legislation.

  • Performance & reward: This module explores how performance management and reward contribute to organisational success. Apprentices learn how to apply policy, legislation, and best practice to performance reviews, pay structures, and motivation, supporting a positive and productive workplace culture.

  • HR data & analytics: Apprentices are introduced to the use of data and analytics in HR decisionmaking. The module focuses on interpreting HR data to inform strategy, improve processes, and understand the importance of data protection and ethical data use.

  • Employee relations: This module develops knowledge of employee relations within education settings. Apprentices explore conflict management, employment legislation, and codes of practice, including trade union recognition and the legal framework that supports positive employee relations.

  • HR professional skills: Apprentices build the professional behaviours and capabilities required of HR practitioners. This module focuses on personal effectiveness, resilience, flexibility, and influencing skills, supporting apprentices to contribute confidently to improving local HR processes.

End Point Assessment:
