The Leigh Institute (ConnectED Apprenticeships)
Teaching assistants work very closely with students and often support the same ones long term. They can have a life-changing impact on the people they work with.
Typical tasks include:
helping pupils with their learning
running activities with small groups
supporting individual students to overcome challenges, such as with reading, writing or confidence.
supporting students who have special educational needs and disabilities
preparing the classroom with resources and displays
What's involved with a Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship?
The Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship is suitable for covering both Primary and Secondary phases.
The broad purpose of a TA Apprentice is to support the class teacher to enhance learners’ progress and development either in groups or individually.
Duration: 18 months (including EPA)
Ideal Entry Requirements: 4 GCSEs at Grade C/4 or equivalent, including Maths and English.
Progression: After completion, TAs may progress to higher level teaching assistant roles and specialist teaching assistant roles.

At ConnectED Apprenticeships (The Leigh Institute), our programmes compliment your business needs which ensures that the apprentice will learn skills that are applicable to their role at your company.
Training type e.g block, release days, or at work address. Average 20% across the year with a combinations of work-place assessment and day release.
