Lift Schools Apprenticeships


Ideal for anyone who loves working with children and families - whether you’re beginning your journey into safeguarding or looking to develop your skills and achieve a recognised qualification. Our Level 3 Safeguarding Support Officer programme is for aspiring individuals with safeguarding responsibilities.


This course is built for pastoral assistants, attendance officers, assistant/deputy DSLs and student welfare staff who act as the first point of contact for safeguarding concerns. You will learn how to safely log sensitive records, spot indicators of harm, and support the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) during audits, multi-agency meetings, and critical intervention processes.

End Point Assessment:

  • Presentation & Q&A: You will deliver a 45-minute presentation demonstrating your safeguarding compliance and answer questions from an expert examiner.

  • Professional Discussion: A 60-minute structured discussion with an assessor, using your real work portfolio to prove your skills and confidence.


Where It Can Take You:

  • Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), DSL or part of the pastoral management teams.

  • Level 4: Provides an ideal career route toward Senior Pastoral Leadership, Level 4 Early Intervention Practitioner, or Child Protection specialisms.
