This apprenticeship is suitable for new or current Teaching Assistants; this course develops the knowledge, skills and behaviours identified through the apprenticeship in line with your current experience. The course is 50% assignments, or professional discussions with your tutor, and 50% practical observations in your role.
You can choose the general Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship. However following feedback from previous cohorts we have also developed two specialisms which you can also choose if you prefer: Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship with SEN Pathway, or Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship with EAL Pathway.
End Point Assessment
This is pretty much the same as what you have experienced throughout the programme; you will have an observation and a professional discussion supported by your portfolio of evidence.
CACHE Level 3 Diploma Supporting Teaching and Learning
Within the Level 3 Teaching Assistant apprenticeship we have embedded CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning. We will use the assignments, professional discussions and observations to assess you against the CACHE qualification as well as the apprenticeship standard in order to provide you with two qualifications, for free!
SEN Pathway
Our SEN Pathway has been written in conjunction with Teaching Assistants to cover the knowledge and skills to support your work with children with additional needs, at no additional cost - still free!
EAL Pathway
Our EAL Pathway has been written alongside an EAL specialist in order to support the English language acquisition at all levels of fluency, all still free!
Maths and English
If you are over 19 years old there is no requirement to have Level 2 Maths and English qualifications; however if you would like to complete these alongside your apprenticeship we can offer these - all still free!

Apprenticeship Programme
We believe that partnerships can only thrive with collaboration and we want to work with you to up skill your workforce and benefit directly from the apprenticeship levy. We aim to not only train your apprentices in the first instance but to also train assessors within your schools so that even more of the levy can come back into your schools to support your staff and children.
How TEFLA work with you
We want to be your partner in using apprenticeships in a way that builds the skills and confidence of your staff in a cost-effective way. We work with you to:
identify the apprenticeships most applicable to the development needs and register your staff on the right qualifications
induction on a termly basis or we can create a bespoke cohort just for your school or Trust (depending on numbers)
build capacity so you can use your staff to be assessor coaches or facilitators - we want you to get the most out of your levy.
quality assure delivery, check in regularly to ensure everything is working for you and, ultimately, share the celebrations in the achievement of your people
